Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) is one of the characters in the CBS television comedy series, “The Big Bang Theory.” He is best friends with Leonard Hofstadter, lives in the same apartment with him and is also his officemate. He is manipulative and distrustful. He believes that Leonard’s desire for Penny will only lead to unwanted results. Sheldon is the one who often provides reason for his friends, and is very straightforward when it comes to laying down the facts. Ironically, his assertiveness and superiority often become the roots of conflicts in the show. Dr. Sheldon Cooper’s character is named after the actor and producer Sheldon Leonard.
