Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg)

Howard Wolowitz is Jewish and works as an engineer at the Department of Applied Physics. He is Leonard and Sheldon’s officemate at Caltech. He often hangs at the latter two’s apartment. He sometimes joked that the only reason he and Koothrappali go to the apartment was because they like Leonard, not Sheldon. Since he is the engineer in their group of friends, Howard is often the leader of ridiculous experiments and projects. Some of which were creating a killer robot, making a non-Newtonian fluid bounce with a speaker as the material or publicly accessing the Internet using Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment lighting.

Howard sometimes imitates the voices of Koothrappali and his bossy mother. He is allergic to peanuts and is diagnosed with transient idiopathic arrhythmia. Although he shows dislike in living with his mother, he actually stays at home with her. His mother, whose face was never seen and was only recognized through her shouting, makes him packed lunches and does not allow him to have sleepovers on weekdays. However, Howard tells his mother he is already an adult.
