Leonard got a chance this week to work on a Stephen Hawking’s project at sea. Although Sheldon too got an assignment in the North Pole, his major concern was how Leonard was able to land on such a project and the fact that he was going away didn’t make him happy. And as we are all aware with the typical-Sheldon-jealousy, he went on trying to convince him how bad that idea to go there was until Penny advised him to be happy about his friend’s success.

Meanwhile, Howard was getting ready to go on a space mission. And with Leonard also leaving, Sheldon finally thought his time has also come. Although he was fully aware of all the difficulties he was going to face there in the new environment he still took off bravely.

The relationship between Penny and Leonard has suddenly improved a lot on screen. They were getting to understand each other better and were being more supportive and able to make each other laugh. Like the instant in which Leonard told Penny that he was going on the expedition, it was totally surprising that Penny was completely supportive there.

While theirs has been a success, Raj and Lucy has been at loggerheads due to the constant mute nature of Raj for the last six seasons. Howard has been his translator since then and it was really very irritating both for Lucy as well as the viewers. Also some acts of Raj were underwhelming for her like the instant in which Raj tried to introduce her to his friends for which Lucy was not ready. Rightfully Lucy broke up with him.

After that the Raj we saw was a complete different one. He talked to a girl for the first time without consuming alcohol. He finally has his own voice now and it can’t be more pleasant. With that he can finally now start a search for a new soul mate. He has finally understood the reason of his failure in relationships.

What was funnier about the fact that Raj has found his voice was that he now just couldn’t stop talking. Come on. Try to be a mute person constantly surrounded by alcohol for 6 seasons. The writers were justified to give him the chance to talk his mouth out which has been closed for so long.

But this has totally changed in the finale. Raj talks to Penny without the help of alcohol. It was a big breakthrough that had been hinted at by the producer Steve Molaro. The scene that started from emotional to shocking to a sidesplitting show was wonderful. Raj and Penny became emotional over the issue of Lucy and Leonard. Lucy had split up with Raj and Leonard had left them all for an expedition to the North Sea that will extend for four long months. Other than seeing how hopeless Raj is in the situation it was a normal conversation between them, till he says that he did not have a drink since the last one he had the previous night.

The reveal caught the viewer unawares amidst the emotional moment and was surprising and funny also. And the humor increased as the girls realized that this meant that they have to listen to him talking on and on and on till the end credits rolled.

Raj being cured of his disability seems to be unbelievable. With his curing it will no longer be hilarious to see the way he whispered to Howard. But after six seasons of staying mute, Raj, deserves this change. The unique issue he faced did not seem to be making much of an uproar recently. And he had been acting more sober, when he was drunk in the recent episodes. It seems like it was time to end his six seasons long disability with the finale and it was a fitting and enjoyable one too. How this will affect his future story line will have to be watched for in the coming season. Amy revealing how she felt like an outsider in the group and Sheldon’s performance were noteworthy scenes.

Leonard gets a new job opportunity to work abroad for the summer and Sheldon is feeling a little bit jealous. Meanwhile, Raj tries to move his relationship with Lucy into a new direction by introducing her to his friends, but he fears that she may not like them.

The episode looked somewhat on the lines of the game night episode without the funny element. Howard came out with an astounding performance in his portrayal of the Dungeon Master. The hard to please Sheldon too was flabbergasted by the skill of Howard. He is certainly the Zachary Quinto of Dungeon Master.

The talk that Sheldon and Leonard had early on about Sheldon not being favorable to change was a nice way to start the episode. Sheldon did not know that that night had plenty of things in store for him on the contrary and the most surprising of all was that he willingly accepted them.

Sheldon wearily saying that he was up to his neck with hearing Leonard hoist Zachary Quinto on his face was hilarious. The D & D game play provided for a few laughs and even funnier was Penny turning the game into a craps form of mash up game. Even Sheldon seemed to be drawn by the game.

But the humorous tone changed when the relationship of Amy and Sheldon was highlighted. The love potion designed to help Sheldon became a tool for insulting and humiliating Amy. She wants Sheldon to show his love in the normal manner, but he does not seem to be capable of doing it.

Sheldon saying that they both were together after three years showed how he is incapable of understanding the issues she faces. Though Amy ends up being the butt of jokes, her love for Sheldon is real and he too feels the same but does not know how to show it.

Though they were not able to share intimacy in the real sense, they managed to have a virtual intimacy that seemed to satisfy Amy for the present. In time, Sheldon may come to realize his own sexual nature and share it with her. Penny and Leonard checking on Amy, and her reply were hilarious.

Meanwhile, Raj and Lucy had their own issues to contend with. Though it was their feelings of insecurity that brought them together in the first place, they found that it also caused some complications. Raj thinking that he was helping her overcome her insecurity was proved wrong when Lucy flees from the place.

Lucy getting trapped made her reach out for Raj who came to her rescue and it was good seeing them being truthful in spite of the issues they were facing. Raj has finally got a girlfriend after being single for five seasons of The Big Bang Theory.

After an aborted girls’ trip to Vegas, they are all playing Dungeons and Dragons together. Raj leaves after he finds that Lucy is free and he pushes her to do things that scare her. In the game, Penny casts a love spell on Sheldon and Amy’s charactors which gets Amy very upset because they are treating her and Sheldon’s relationship as a joke.

Considering Leonard asked Penny to come over, wouldn’t Sheldon have wanted his girl friend there as well? There were no references to her in the show either. It’s like she disappeared. Given the fact that she is in a relationship with Sheldon, it should have been explained, but the jokes did work a lot better without her.

In order to truly enjoy the show, you have to accept the fact that Sheldon is crazy and live with whatever he is doing no matter how logical or illogical it seems. In this episode, the problem wasn’t his excitement over meeting Professor Proton that was the problem, it was his naiveté. This was true for Penny as well, but in a whole different way.

Penny did manage to do a good job of proving her ignorance of science. She played her dumb blonde role to perfection and managed to look adorable at the same time.

Arthur (Professor Proton) was quite impressed that a physicist like Leonard was able to date a girl like Penny. He was also confused as to what they talked about. He also admitted that she was the only reason he had stayed for as long as he did.

Even though Sheldon and Leonard told him that he was responsible for their love for science it did not seem like it was enough to rid him of his disappointment with his life. He then had trouble with his pacemaker that ended up with him being in a hospital bed and Sheldon sitting by his side. He then asked Sheldon to do one of his shows for him and Sheldon asked if he could call him father. It was sad that we did not get to see Professor Proton, Jr. at work. After his presentation for the school girls, we would really have liked to see the show he would have put on for the kids.

The episode also had some cute moments between Raj and his dog Cinnamon. Bernie and Howard discussed having kids as well, though that story fell through itself.

When Sheldon and Leonard learn their favorite TV scientist is available to hire, they seek to do so. Howard and Bernadette are tasked with watching Raj’s dog.

The comedy veteran made an appearance as Professor Proton, a hero from Sheldon‘s (Jim Parsons) childhood.

Sheldon’s find out that his childhood hero is now available for private parties and hires him. Even his roommate Leonard (Johnny Galecki) seems excited to meet Professor Proton.

Parsons commented on his work with Newhart by saying that it was incomprehensible and it was difficult to understand what he was doing.

He added that there were some special guest stars on the show but none of them were able to captivate him quite like Newhart could.

The comedy legend who is now 83 years old has made appearances in a lot of television shows including guest appearances in Desperate Housewives, ER and NCIS.

He is best known for his programme the Bob Newhart show which ran from 1972 all the way to 1978 and also from 1982 all the way to 1990.

The problem of Sheldon is way beyond his frustration with the SyFy network in “The Closer Alternative.” He is obsessed with closure, especially the closure of Alphas. Amy tries to ameliorate the situation by putting him through various situations that will cause him to forget about the closure. It was a valiant effort to try to divert his mind from the closure.

This was successful, it was a good try.

She puts Sheldon through several activities. The activities include singing the national anthem, a game of tic-tac-toe, a jack-in-the-box without pop, set up of dominoes that will not be knocked down and blocking candles on a cake so that they do no blow out. The dominoes and jack-in-the-box ideas were crazy, and they were not very entertaining to watch at all.

Amy should have felt how Jack was feeling. Sheldon tells her she didn’t know what it felt like to be completely frustrated. To this Amy replies, this sounded like a drag.

Sheldon became so frustrated, and the activities were a blast to watch. It is not always that someone gets the better of him in this way. Sheldon is satisfied. He and his girlfriend go through all the activities. This was hilarious.

Talk with Bruce Miller was a let down. He got what he wanted, a cliffhanger, but it was not a lovable answer. He spit out some of the funniest sentences about cancelled shows.

Sheldon says they couldn’t just cancel a series like Alphas. He blamed heroes saying they gradually lowered the series’ quality from one season to another.

He mentions Buffy the Vampire Slayer and gets excited to share it with Penny. He thought there was already a winner. He called it a cult classic which he loved. Her passion did not match Sheldon’s. For her it was fun and cute.

Leonard is disappointed with Penny. She began to wonder why she could not develop a passion similar to that of her friends. In the end she realises she did have a passion, it was different from others. She is passionate about Leonard and the rest of her friends. This is a positive sign, and it may prove advantageous for their relationship.

Elsewhere Lucy and Raj are finally getting to know each other. Raj finds her blog. He struggles to decide if to read or not. The bro-time between Howard and Raj was worth watching. This is more than the season six of The Big Bang Theory. Scary to think it is that Howard has grown so sophisticated. He is no longer a creepy, leering man.

Dr. Cabbie, which has Kunal Nayyar of The Big Bang Theory will be produced by the Bollywood star, according to reports.

Salman Khan has reportedly said that Dr. Cabbie has a timeless appeal to it, as it features the story of an Indian immigrant.

The film revolves around a taxi driver, who is an unemployed doctor. He turns the taxi into a mobile clinic, becoming the local hero.

Speedy Singhs star, Vinay Virmani, Adrianne Palicki and Rizwan Manji of Outsourced also star in the film.

Isabelle Kaif, the younger sister of Katrina Kaif, will probably be part of the film project.

The initial part of the filming will begin this week in Toronto under the direction of Jean Francois Poulio.
