“The Big Bang Theory” exec producers confirmed that Penny will be going through a journey in the next season of the show.

Bill Prady, executive producer of the show, explained that Penny is going through a hard time. Her career in not going nowhere and she had nothing but her friends, the group of geek guys. For the first time, Penny felt special and treated the way she wanted to be treated. Her geek friends, including Raj, treats her as a person and not like some other pretty girl like how other narrow minded guy would always treat her.

In an interview, Prady said that he loves seeing a character picking up the pieces of her downfall. It is nice to see how they redeem their selves after a failure. This is actually where the character of Penny is going. It is going to be a fun journey to see her get up after her fall and correct her mistakes, like may be the one she just did; sleeping with Raj.

In addition to Penny’s character journey in season five of the show, Prady hinted that Melissa Raunch will still be part of the show. Raunch portrays the role of Bernadette, Howard’s fiancé.

Season 5 will always be about the planning of Howard and Bernadette’s wedding. This includes the decision who gets to be the best man and the maid of honour. There will also be a bachelor party, which will turn out to be miserable. But still the highlight will be the fact that Howard will finally leave the house of his mother. There are teasers that suggest that Leonard, portrayed by Johnny Galecki, will have a long distance relationship with his girlfriend Priya, portrayed by Aarti Mann in the upcoming season.
