The Big Bang Theory is a comedy series created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. The two also serves as the executive producers of the series. The show premiered on September 2007 in CBS.

The show is set in Pasadena, California which centers around the lives of five geniuses; two of which are roommates. Leonard Hofstadter, portrayed by Johnny Galecki, is an experimental physicist who lives with his best friend Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons, who is a theoretical physicist. Sheldon is originally from East Texas. Leonard has an IQ of 173 and when he received his Ph.D. at the age of 24. Meanwhile, Sheldon was already in college when he was 11 years old, this was right after he completed his fifth grade. At the age f 14, Sheldon already finished his graduate studies. Sheldon’s IQ is 187.

The two roomies live next to Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco. Penny Hardaway is a very attractive blonde who works for The Cheesecake Factory as a waitress. Penny has a frustration of becoming an actress.

Leonard and Sheldon’s two remaining friends are Howard Wolowitz and Rajesh Koothrappali. Howard Wolowitz is portrayed by Simon Helberg. He is an aerospace engineer who is Jewish and still lives with his mother up to now. Of the four friends, only Howard does not have a Ph.D. meanwhile, Rajesh Kootrappali, the astrophysicist from New Delhi, India is portrayed by Kunal Nayyar. Rajesh does not talk with the presence of a woman.

The Big Bang Theory

Also starring in The Big Bang Theory is Sara Gilbert as Leslie Winkle, an experimental physicist who happens to have casual sex with Leonard and Howard. Melissa Rauch plays the role of Bernadette, co-worker of Penny who also works as a waitress to pay for her studies in graduate school.

The show is basically revolves around how the four genius friends gets too smart when it comes to science but is dumbfounded by dealing with more common matters like relationships. This makes the show a hit, the incorporation of genius people acting funny in the eyes of common people.
