The creators of the show ‘Big Bang Theory’ are trying to get deeper with their characters. Bill Prady, executive producer of the show and Chuck Lorre, creator of the show, talks about the show.

Prady mentioned in an interview that the effectiveness of the characters in the show is because they try to make them as real and as accurate as possible. He says that they have their ways on how they manage to do the geek characters work with the show. First, they have an idea and then they will try to incorporate science in it. Also, they have a consultant named David Saltzberg who is an Astrophysicist working in UCLA to get views from so that they can keep the show as realistic as possible. From the idea, they consult Saltzberg if the idea is possible to do, like for instance asking if they can tackle neutrinos in the episode.

According to Prady, humor of the show comes from the fact that geeks are just like any other people. They might be smarter than other people, but that doesn’t mean that they are wiser. This is where the comedy comes from, the day to day dealing of geeks.

Chuck Lorre, creator of the show says that they try to make the jokes easy to understand, even for them. SO the whole science plot thing is actually irrelevant for all the humor that the show brings.

Lorre and Prady shares that the fun in doing the show comes when they are in one room trying to write the physics stuffs on their own. None of them is actually a scientist, though Prady was once a computer programmer. Though, they need not be a physicist to know when one line is funny or not.

Now, the characters will have to deal more about their pasts. All have different backgrounds and it is something that the creators would want to go deeper into. Also, they mentioned that putting more depth in their characters will not make them boring for the viewers. Everyone in the casts is up for the challenge ahead.
