This episode of the ‘Big Bang Theory’ was titled ‘The Recombination Hypothesis‘. This episode was historical that it was the hundredth episode of the show. And what the writers did was to go back to the beginning of the show and focus on the Leonard and Penny’s relationship. This was actually how they started the very first episode. That one was based on Leonard’s feelings towards his neighbor.
It turned out that there was a whole lot of daydreaming in this episode that would have caught some fans unawares. And the story was from Leonard’s own perspective. There was a time they actually dated and while it was not so popular with fans some still felt that they were great together and are actually hoping for them to reunite.
But Leonard’s daydream about them getting back was unique in that he ‘dreamed’ up the things they were to avoid in order to successfully get back together. The daydream had some hilarious moments but other aspects of the episode were equally funny.
One funny thing about this show and which reflected in this episode was the fact that they as nerds had their own kinds of jokes they usually find funny. They are most often jokes ‘adults’ won’t find funny as such or kids would find very funny. So their insides jokes become funny to the viewers because it is funny to them. And this is seen clearly when ever the boys are gathered.
The centenary episode was used quite well to bring back some memories. It does seem as if Leonard and Penny would be coming back together. Wonder what fans would think about that.
